Drummer Webb Thomas and his Superband will be in Collingswood!
The Jazz Bridge first Thursdays, Neighborhood Concerts Series at the Collingswood Community Center--30 East Collings Avenue in Collingswood, NJ—presents Webb T’s Fleet Superband on Thursday, February 6. Drummer Webb (“T) Thomas is one of the region’s most prominent drummers. As a leader, Thomas and the Fleet Superband hav...e appeared at most of the major jazz festivals and nightspots. As an accompanist, he’s worked with giants such as Benny Golson, David “Fathead” Newman, Doug Carn and many others. “Thomas exudes experience, confidence, inherent rhythmic ease and skill,” says Jazz News. Members of the Superband are guitarist Craig Ebner, Patrick Rickman on trumpet and flugelhorn, organist Dan Kostelnik and saxophonist Pete Chavez.
The Jazz Bridge Neighborhood Concerts Series is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Philadelphia Jazz Project, Philadelphia Fund for Jazz Legacy and Innovation of the Philadelphia Foundation, and Painted Bride Arts Center. Jazz Bridge, a 501C public charity that assists area jazz and blues musicians in crisis, is sponsoring this performance in Collingswood as well as 40 other events this season on five area stages in the Greater Delaware Valley.
