Schuehler Swims at World Juniors on Thursday

The 2013 Collingswood High School graduate will compete in the 200-meter breaststroke at the FINA Junior World Championships in Dubai.

Having earned a trip to Dubai with a top-two finish in the 200-meter breaststroke at the USA World Junior qualifying meet earlier this month, Collingswood's Andy Schuehler will compete on an international stage this Thursday at the 2013 FINA World Junior Championships.

According to a press release from Penn State University, which the 2013 Collingswood High School graduate will attend this fall, preliminaries for Schuehler's event begin at 1 a.m. Thursday, with finals to start at 10 a.m.

Schuehler is one of two Americans to have qualified for the competition; the only one who beat his record-breaking time at the event was first-place finisher Joseph Bentz, with whom he will also swim in Dubai.

"Schuehler nearly qualified for the 100m backstroke by placing third in the event at the U.S. Junior Nationals," the release notes.
