Giancola Gets First-Round Bye in State Tournament

The New Jersey state wrestling tournament gets underway this weekend in Atlantic City.

Collingswood's Tony Giancola can breathe a bit easier in the New Jersey state wrestling tournament—he's already made it past the first round.

Giancola, who wrestles in the 113-pound weight class, will begin his quest for a state title in round 2 of the tournament, held this weekend at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.

He'll take on the winner of the round 1 match between North Hunterdon's Ryan Pomrinca and Kittatinny's James Elphick, according to NJ.com's tournament bracket.
