Sicklerville Pharmacist Shoots at 'Would-Be Robber'

A pharmacist at Jolin's Pharmacy fired a handgun at man who demanded prescription drugs Wednesday afternoon.

A Winslow Township pharmacist fired a handgun at a "would-be robber" several times this afternoon, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

It remains unknown at this time whether the robber, who demanded Oxycontin from the pharmacist, produced a weapon during the incident, Camden County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Jason Laughlin said.

The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. at Jolin's Pharmacy, located at 412 Sicklerville Rd., in Winslow Township.

Authorities do not know at this time whether the robbery suspect was struck by any of the bullets the pharmacist fired.

"The would-be robber fled, jumped onto a mountain bike and rode away," Laughlin said in an email.

The pharmacist was uninjured in the incident.
