Police Blotter: Wanted Persons, Theft, Shoplifting

All information presented in these reports was gathered from the Collingswood Police Department. An arrest is not a conviction.

Wanted Persons
At 11 p.m. September 15, officers observed a 2000 Honda Odyssey van with inoperable brake lights in the vicinity of Haddon Avenue. They stopped the vehicle, and made contact with the driver: Rakeem Green, 44, of Camden. After running an ID check, officers determined that Green was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. It was also revealed that he was wanted on $92,500 in active warrants from multiple municipal courts in Camden County. Green was cited with motor vehicle summonses and remanded to the Camden County correctional facility in default.

Theft
At 4 p.m. Sept. 11, officers apprehended four juveniles—two 12-year-olds and two 11-year-olds—who allegedly stole a package off a front porch in the 700 block of Park Avenue. They were remanded to the custody of their parents.

Theft
Sometime in the overnight hours of September 12, unknown persons entered the Madison Garden apartments and stole a Craftsman LT-1000 riding lawnmower valued at $1,000. Investigators processed the scene for physical evidence; the investigation is ongoing.

Theft
In the overnight hours of September 12, unknown actors entered a vacant property at 40 Haddon Avenue and stole a large amount of copper piping from the basement of the building. The value of the materials is unknown at this time. Investigators processed the scene for physical evidence, and the investigation is ongoing.

Shoplifting
At 3:20 p.m. on September 10, officers were dispatched to the Radio Shack on Route 130 for a report of shoplifting. Two men entered the store: one stole a 19-inch Toshiba flat-screen television, and the other stole an HP wireless printer. They fled and were last seen running in the direction of the city of Camden. Surveillance footage of the store is still being reviewed.

Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)
Overnight September 10, Collingswood police received a call from a passing motorist about an erratic driver in the area of Collings Ave. and the White Horse Pike. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Michael Doherty, 31, of Philadelphia, refused a breathalyzer, and was arrested. Doherty was charged with DWI and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. His vehicle was impounded and he was released to a sober acquaintance pending a court date.

Vehicle Burglary
Between 4:40 and 6 p.m. September 7, unknown actors broke into a Suzuki parked in the 600 block of Haddon Ave and removed a laptop computer that was sitting on the front seat. The windows were down and the vehicle was unsecured. Police have no known suspects, no witnesses.
