Burglars Strike Collingswood Sheds, Garages

Collingswood police arrested three teens for allegedly snooping around a home in the borough, and investigated a pair of shed break-ins.

Collingswood police reported a trio of suspicious incidents in the borough during the overnight hours of September 2, which resulted in three arrests and the reporting of a pair of as-yet-unsolved burglaries.

In the unit block of Hillcrest Avenue, unknown individuals pried off the lock to a secured, wooden shed, and stole an Echo weed whacker valued at $150 and a gas leaf blower valued at $100.

That same evening, unknown individuals broke off the lock and strike plate on a garage door in the 400 block of Cattel Ave. Nothing was taken from within, police said, but the victim keeps numerous amounts of plumbing supplies for his business within.

Earlier that same night, at 7 p.m., homeowners in the 600 block of S Atlantic Avenue, saw some teens approach their home. After they walked up the driveway and lifted a tarp, the teens allegedly noted the resident looking out the window of the home, and ran off.

Police followed up on a description of the suspects, and located three juveniles from Camden City in the area: a 17 and 15-year-old male and a 14-year-old female. The teens were given a station house adjustment and were released to their parents.
