Collingswood Field Hockey Into State Group 1 Final

The Panthers beat Pitman in the semifinal Thursday.

Twin sisters Shauna and Krista LaMania scored a combined hat trick at the Collingswood field hockey team advanced to the state Group 1 finals with a 5-0 victory over Pitman at Eastern Thursday evening.

Shauna LaMania scored the Panthers' first goal to give the team a 1-0 lead at the half, and Collingswood exploded after it to walk away with the win.

Shannon Super and Kelly Rogers each scored, and Krista LaMania put the finishing touches on the game with two goals in the late stages to wrap up the victory.

Defensively, the Panthers clamped down—beyond the shutout, the team didn't allow Pitman a single shot in the first half.

Collingswood will face the winner of Shore-Mountain Lakes in the state Group 1 championship Saturday at Toms River East.
