Forecast Altered from 'Plowable' to 'Fluffy,' up to 4 Inches Expected

Get ready for some "fluffy" snow, weather watchers.

Although the forecast has changed a bit since the early part of the week, it does still look like South Jersey will get some snow beginning Friday afternoon.

As of 5 p.m. today, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Mount Holly was calling for the storm to drop between 1 and 4 inches of snow in Camden County.

"It looks to us like it's going to snow," NWS meteorologist Walter Drag said. "We just don't know how much yet. It looks to us like somewhere in the 1- to 4-inch range."

The snow, which Drag described as "fluffy," is expected to start Friday afternoon and last through Friday night.

Camden County Health officials extended their “Code Blue” severe weather advisory from 6 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. Saturday.

"The latest forecasts obtained by Camden County are predicting temperatures in the teens with winds up to 15 miles per hour over the next 72 hours with a strong chance of snow starting in the evening hours of Friday into Saturday morning," the county government announced.

Freeholders also advised that neighbors check on the elderly, the handicapped and those who live alone.

“It is important that that most vulnerable among us are not left without heat or electricity,” said Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez in the statement.
