Patch 5-Day Forecast: Sunshine to Begin the Week

Some wet/wintry weather is possible beyond Monday. When will these conditions arrive? Find out in your PatchCast for Feb. 18-24.

We'll be under high pressure Monday to start the week, which will give us plenty of bright sunshine but keep our temperatures on the cold side with a bit of a breeze at times. We should only manage the mid-to-upper-30s for a high Monday afternoon. Our low temperature tonight will actually occur this evening before temperatures slowly rise overnight.

A low pressure system will approach our area from the west on Tuesday. Consequently, rain will be developing either during the late morning or early afternoon hours from west to east. Don't forget to take that umbrella with you as you step out the door Tuesday morning. However, the good news is that our high temperature will approach 50 degrees before a cold front brings in colder air Tuesday night.

Wednesday and Thursday will be cold and windy with high temperatures holding in the 30s. Wind chills will be even colder than that, in the 20s.

Our next weather system will approach us on Friday. This system could bring us a period of ice (sleet and freezing rain) Friday morning until temperatures rise above freezing in the afternoon. Then any frozen precipitation will changeover to plain rain. Keep that in mind as you may want to give yourself some extra time to commute to work or school Friday morning.

Some leftover rain showers will be possible to start the weekend, but we'll finish the weekend on a milder note with dry weather. Be sure to check in with Phillyweather.net all week long for updates to this forecast!
