Five Things for This Week: 10/8/12 to 10/14/12

It's a busy weekend in the borough with a pair of events Thursday and an absolutely packed Second Saturday that features an all-day concert, PhotoWalk, and gallery opening.

1. PFLAG Night Out in Collingswood
Thursday, Oct. 11; 7-9 p.m. at The Pop Shop Party Room

Join your Collingswood neighbors in celebrating National Coming Out Day with an LGBTQ-themed trivia night featuring first-, second-, and third-place prizes, raffle items, and door prizes. A $5 suggested donation also includes a raffle ticket.

Dine at Casona or The Pop Shop on Thursday, and 15 percent of your bill will be donated to benefit PFLAG (Parents, Friends, and Families of Lesbians And Gays).

2. Collingswood Junior Women's Club Night Out for Charity
Thursday, Oct. 11; 6-10 p.m. at Collingswood Community Center

For the second year running, Collingswood Junior Women's Club will host a shopping event to benefit a handful of charities selected by the organization. Three bucks gets you in the door to this B.Y.O.B. event plus a parking pass. Shop more than 20 vendors and crafters, including Scentsy Tupperware, Thirty One Miche, Grace Adele Arbonne, Silpada Partylite, and Willow House Premier Jewelry.

3. Before the Bridge Music Festival
Saturday, Oct. 13; noon-10 p.m. at Haddon & Woodlawn Aves.

This all-day music festival (co-sponsored by Patch) features 10 original music acts, many of which hail from the area. Local notables on the bill include Patch Readers' Choice favorite Kevin Monko and I Am Collingswood columnist Shannon McGill of She Hates Me.

4. Collingswood PhotoWalk
Saturday, Oct. 13; 5 p.m. at PATCO Hi-Speedline

Amateur and professional photographers from throughout the borough will convene for an evening of picture-taking, networking, and sightseeing in concert with Scott Kelby's Worldwide PhotoWalk. Organized locally by sponsor Lilac Blossom Photography, the event will enjoy a bit of synchronicity with the Second Saturday exhibit opening for Artists and Books at the Perkins Center for the Arts, which will feature the winning photographs from the Classic Towns Photography Contest.

5. Collingswood CROP Walk
Sunday, Oct. 14; 12:30 p.m.at First Baptist Church
