Collingswood Restaurant Stuck with Counterfeit Bill

Collingswood police say a local establishment had to eat the cost of some funny money.

A shopper patronizing a Collingswood restaurant allegedly paid with a counterfeit bill, leaving business owners to eat the cost of the tab.

On November 21, Collingswood police were dispatched to a restaurant in the 800 block of Haddon Avenue to investigate a claim of receiving counterfeit money.

At 5:45 p.m. that day, police say a man in his late 40s and wearing a red sweatshirt purchased a $2 soda with a $20 bill. When the restaurant owner questioned him about the bill, the man allegedly became hostile and left the store.
