Collingswood Police Hiring for a Full-Time Officer
The department, which just swore in two new full-time officers this year, will now be hiring another.
The Collingswood Police Department will begin accepting applications from all qualified individuals who are interested in a position as a Full Time Police Officer beginning on Monday, July 29, 2013.
Interested individuals may drop off a resume and obtain an application packet from the Police Department, which is located at 735 North Atlantic Avenue, Collingswood, NJ 08108.
Applications are available to be picked up Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm, excluding holidays. All completed applications must be returned no later than Monday, August 19, 2013 at 4:00pm.
All applications and resumes must be dropped off in person and any questions regarding the process should be directed to Chief Richard J. Sarlo.
The following are the minimum qualifications required for anyone interested in applying for the position of Full Time Police Officer in Collingswood:
Must be at least 18 years of age and must be hired on or before their 35th birthday.

A citizen of the United States and resident of the State of New Jersey
Must have satisfactorily completed police academy training with a Basic Course for Police Officer certification from the New Jersey Police Training Commission. SLEO-II certification will also be acceptable as long as the certification is currently within a waiver period and with no outstanding obligation to another municipality.

Pass a background investigation
Pass a medical examination, psychological examination and drug screen
Must be a graduate from a high school or have had a formal education or training showing attainment of the level represented by graduation from high school
Be of good moral character and never convicted of a crime or of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty
Have a valid unrestricted New Jersey driver’s license.
Must be able to perform all job functions of a Police Officer.
