"The Diva Duo" is comprised of Delaware Valley sopranos Sharon Rose Derstine and Melissa Perry, with Hugh Kronrot as their music director and pianist. In 1999, "The Diva Duo" made its triumphant Philadelphia debut singing at the Union League for the British ambassador and his wife at a party presented by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Since then "The Diva Duo" has been busy performing throughout the Delaware Valley. They have been a featured group for "Music for All Seasons", a charity organization founded by Dudley Moore, presenting classical music to unserved audiences. Ms. Jaye Green, music coordinator at Old Zion Lutheran Church of Philadelphia, raves, “The combined talents of Melissa and Sharon are singsational!” Sara Ann Kronrot (www.friendsofsara.com) was born November 4, 2003, to Collingswood residents Melissa Perry, an opera singer, and Hugh Kronrot, a conductor and vocal coach. Sara has profound cerebral palsy, leaving her unable to hold up her head, stand, or walk. Her vision and hearing are limited and she has difficulty swallowing. However, for a child with such extreme disabilities, she has made astounding progress. 2011 was her breakthrough year; she was able to write by herself with someone holding only her wrist. She also draws and creates remarkably beautiful art. Unfortunately, most of Sara’s therapies are either not covered or only partially covered by medical insurance, and the family’s finances have been devastated due to years of astronomical medical expenses. Prints and cards of Sara Ann’s beautiful and unique art work will be available for sale at the event and at her website store www.friendsofsara.com Friend her on Facebook and visit her YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/saraannkronrot .
