Long Winter Over: Collingswood Farmers Market Reopens

A Saturday morning ritual for many in Collingswood resumes May 4.

It’s not too shabby, having America’s Favorite Farmers Market in our own backyard. Starting Saturday, Collingswood will keep the tradition going.

Collingswood Farmers Market will kick off its 2013 season on May 4 at 8 a.m. The opening starts a season that lasts until Thanksgiving.

Collingswood Farmers Market takes place along the PATCO line between Collings and Irving avenues, and is open rain or shine on Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon. The market regularly draws hundreds of shoppers each week.

In addition to returning favorites—ranging from local businesses to artisans to South Jersey farms—shoppers will have new selections this year.

“Just a tease for now, but new guest vendors at this year’s market will include a local chocolatier, a canele baker, a purveyor of chutneys and organic preserves, an all natural pesto maker, a new egg farm, a pet masseuse, and orchids grown in southern New Jersey,” market organizers posted on their Facebook page.
