Collingswood's Goodnight Lights Make the Final Four in 104.5 FM Contest

A vote for the local act could give them the opportunity to open at the Susquehanna Bank Center this summer.

Collingswood has a chance to send some of its own to represent the borough at a big-time music venue this summer.

Goodnight Lights, one of the featured acts in the October 2012 Before the Bridge music festival, has made the final elimination round of a listener contest for Radio 104.5-FM.

The final four acts—which include Hold Your Own, Jackson Kingsley, and Rivers Monroe—will participate in a showcase show April 20 at The XYZ Bar at A-Loft Hotel (at the Philadelphia Airport).

The winning band will open up the Radio 104.5 6th Birthday Show, warming up the crowd for headliners Phoenix and Paramore, Silversun Pickups, Passion Pit, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

"It's a real challenge to find a way to break out in today's music scene," band member Jonah Delso told Patch in an e-mail.

"We've enjoyed some success in releasing albums on our own, playing in Philly venues, and getting some notable local press, but we haven't been able to propel ourselves to where we want to be," he said.

"This contest provides the opportunity for us to gain significant exposure to a larger audience."
