And he's good at hacking into accounts. Which is nice.

ReplyWell, I didn't post this. Looks like it's easy to hack accounts or register duplicate names.

You do know you're battling on a local message board with a HS kid from Salem who will just start posting under a different name by mid-week. Right?
Because you are. He's also done some memorable work with the racist and homophobic personas, some of which are above.

Cable News ratings are a joke, the total audience for any of the top shows is extraordinarily low. It's niche programming.
What does O'Reilly, the best-performer of the category offer? Around 375k? That's about half the audience that an issue of "Cat Fancy" will deliver. To draw any conclusions from that freak show of programs is pointless.

Agreed that it's unfair to judge anyone on one quote.
Anyone can cherry pick and call out costs. What's needed is someone who can assess the value of that spend and make recommendations accordingly.

That's not "saving" if you end up needing tree removal because of a storm or disease. It's an arbitrary cut because it doesn't "look right" to one person (who happens to live on a block with no tree problems.
I bet the guy who was on Patch because an old diseased tree fell on his property wishes they'd spent $124,000 last year.
Almost every Pin Oak in town - and we have lots of them, especially on Haddon Ave - is diseased or about to be diseased. The limbs start to fall. These are big trees. We took down a big one in our back yard last summer for that same reason.
There's a big difference between "saving" and "doing without" something essential. And when a kid in Knight Park or on Haddon Ave has a huge branch fall on their head, it's going to cost a lot more than $120,000.
That said, if the cost per tree removed is too high, then I'm all for making it more efficient.

ReplyIs the $120k a fixed annual budget line item? Or was that higher this year because of Knight Park and Sandy?

You mean a population that doesn't drink an over-priced, mass-produced, corporate product that tastes like battery acid?

People should know that Patch does allow anyone to register under names that are already taken. That might lead you to want to stop using Patch.
Because it's kind of ridiculous and negligent.
