Our Readers' Choice winner for staycations took more than two-thirds of the vote.
You’ve spoken loud and clear—when it comes to staycations, the Jersey shore is where it’s at. Our latest Readers’ Choice poll asked where you’d head on a staycation, a vacation where you remain mostly home-based. We’re pretty fortunate here in South Jersey that we’re within an easy drive of many great options. Among the shore, Philadelphia, the Pine Barren and New York City, the shore took 67 percent of the vote. We’ll raise a Kohr Brothers’ twist cone to that! The rest of the options received nearly identical support from readers. No matter where you head for vacation or staycation this year, Collingswood Patch wishes you fun and relaxation—and a reminder that you can take Patch with you on your iPhone or Android to stay in touch with …

Where do you go for a perfect day trip? Vote in our poll.
Our usual approach to Readers’ Choice is polling you on your favorite places in town only, but we’re expanding our horizons a bit this week. Summer’s quickly approaching, but you may not be as flush with cash this year. Staycation it is! Staycation is one of those buzzy words that means different things to different people. Some people staycate strictly at home, lounging about the house. But to us, that sounds a bit dull. Why not get out on your staycation and enjoy one of the nearby areas we’re so lucky to live near? So tell us, when you’re on a staycation, where is your ideal day trip? Vote in the poll and tell us your favorite place for a staycation.

Collingswood, you only have eyes for Casona.
If Sammy Hagar were coming to Collingswood for a mid-morning meal, he would book a table at Casona. Why's that, you ask? Because according to all four of you who voted in this week's Readers' Choice poll, there's only one place--there's only one place--for brunch. Nary an honorable mention among the other candidates presented here, folks. Were you asleep at the switch, or was the overwhelming power of the Casona Sunday-only brunch menu too vast to be conquered? "Our top seller on our brunch menu is probably the Arepa eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros, waffles tropical," said owner Mark Infantado. "The menu Chef Pedro Reyes has created here is unbelievable." Meanwhile, you can't get a table for Mom there for next Sunday because they're at 180…

Mother's Day is coming up. Which of these brunch spots does she dig the most?
"It's not quite breakfast, it's not quite lunch, but it comes with a slice of cantaloupe at the end. You don't get completely what you would at breakfast, but you get a good meal." —Jacques the bowling instructor (Albert Brooks) on The Simpsons episode, "Life on the Fast Lane." Soon it will be Mother's Day, and you'll be on the hook to come up with a good idea for that in-betweeniest of meals: brunch. This week's candidates: That's Amore, Casona, West Side Gravy and the Pop Shop. Help us out! We don't want to be upstaged by our more successful siblings again. Where should Collingswood take Mom for her special day? Cast your vote in the poll below—and if you don't see your top choice, tell us in the comments!

Michael Bruce Florist, we hand this electronic bouquet to you.
Collingswood Patch readers threw their metaphorical roses at the feet of Michael Bruce Florist in this week's Readers' Choice topic: favorite florist. With 65 percent of the vote, Michael Bruce Florist sprang up above the competition, leaving runners-up Sansone Florist and Haddonfield Floral Company in the shade of its reader-voted greenery. (We'd send a card, but we'd probably have to dictate it to you first.) As always, we encourage our winners not to rest on these laurels, but to flourish in the—OK, we've nearly exhausted all our flower puns here. Thanks to all who voted, and check back on Monday for a new Readers' Choice.

When you need the perfect flower arrangement, who do you call?
When you want to fill your home with beautiful blooms, send a friend a floral bouquet or pick the perfect flowers for a special occasion, where do you turn? This week’s Readers’ Choice is all about the best area florist. Collingswood and Haddonfield Patch are teaming up on this poll so you have even more choices. Between the two towns (and a Haddon Township option), there are five local florists to choose from. Who gets your flower business? Polls are open until 9 a.m. Friday. Remember that poll votes are just one part of Readers’ Choice. Contenders also get points for reviews and ratings left this week on their listing in our Patch directory. Leaving a review is a snap and could sway other voters to your favorite florist.

A word of caution: If you're hiking in the Pine Barrens, it's very easy to get lost if you wander off the trail. If you do wander off, leave some 'signs' to help you find your way back!   more ›
