Collingswood's Own Reflect on 'Silver Linings Playbook'

We asked borough residents for their impressions of the Collingswood-based adaptation of the debut from Oaklyn-born Matthew Quick. The film is now playing in theaters.

Thanksgiving weekend saw the wide release of The Silver Linings Playbook, a film based on the popular novel written by Oaklyn native Matthew Quick and set in Collingswood. The story is anchored by the neighborhoods of South Jersey and the rooting interests of its residents. In keeping with that community spirit, Collingswood Patch sought out some folks with close connections to the source material to see what they thought of seeing Silver Linings on the silver screen. Wow, glad I read this article. Did not realize a movie was made based on the book. Absolutely loved the book! I attended a book-signing Matt did a few years ago at a mental health facility, when the book first came out, so my copy is autographed by him. I also have a pic somewhere of the 2 of us at the signing. Being a writer myself, I was really rooting for him and for the success of his book. …   more ›
