Most robbers put on a mask or hoodie—not dress up like someone from the Village People to stick up a bank. The FBI and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office are searching for a pair of bank robbers, one dressed rather creatively, who held up at gunpoint the Sovereign Bank in Woodlynne on Feb. 27. The pair entered the bank at 2400 Mount Ephraim Avenue at 10:20 a.m. and confronted a teller in the lobby. They displayed a firearm and followed her to the counter, where they received an undisclosed amount of cash. Both fled, likely on foot. The two men are described as 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall with medium builds. Collingswood police have released surveillance footage of the man eyewitnesses say stole a drawerful of cash at the Aldi supermarket Friday.
Collingswood Police have confirmed reports of yesterday's brazen, gunpoint robbery at the Aldi supermarket on the White Horse Pike and are asking for help identifying the man they believe committed the crime. The suspect is a thinly built white male between 20 and 30 years old. He is 6 feet tall and sports a beard, goatee or some sort of unshaven facial hair. He was last seen wearing a Raul Ibanez Phillies road jersey (gray with the number 29), a red Phillies hat, dark jeans and black sneakers with white trim. He was armed with a silver handgun. According to police reports, the man entered the supermarket and got in line with a candy bar. When the cashier rang him up, he allegedly tried to reach over her and grab the cash in the drawer. …
