Collingswood struggles to compete in the final two quarters of its game against Sterling High School.
The second half of Tuesday night's game might've been the Pathers girls' basketball team's worst all season. Dec. 21 was the last time the Panthers and Sterling's Silver Knights squared off on the basketball court, but it didn’t take long for spectators to tell who the better team was during their next meeting this past Tuesday night. The Panthers seemed determined for a different outcome this time around, and things seemed headed that way. On Tuesday night, with Collingswood as the host, the game was much more competitive—for the first half, at least. Bordentown Scotties come out on top after Friday's game.
Throughout the course of a low-scoring first half of play, it seemed as though the Collingswood Panthers girls' basketball team was on pace to open their season with a convincing victory. They closed out the second quarter while leading Bordentown by a score of 15-11, and while the four point difference doesn't seem like much of a lead on paper, the Scotties would likely attest to the fact that it took them 16 hard-fought minutes to reach that 11-point mark. After the break, however, was a different story, as Bordentown came out of the gates with a 12-0 run led by senior guard Emily Lawson, who led all scorers with 16 points, ten of which came in the third quarter, eventually leading to a 34-22 loss for the Panthers. "We needed to do a …
