Carjacker Wanted in Gas Station Robbery, Stabbing, Police Say

Collingswood Police believe a man wanted in connection with a carjacking Feb. 20 may also have stabbed and robbed an attendant at the Gulf station on Feb. 15.

Collingswood Police now believe the man who carjacked two women at knifepoint Feb. 20 is the same person wanted in the Feb. 15 stabbing and robbery of a Gulf gas station attendant on Route 130. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office released a photo of the man sought in those incidents Thursday afternoon. He is described as a stocky, black male, weighing between 250 and 275 pounds and 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall. A knife was produced in each of the incidents in which the suspect is believed to be involved. The man's carjacking spree began with an unsuccessful attempt Feb. 20 between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. He demanded a nurse hand over her keys as she walked toward her vehicle. She refused and …

Knife-Wielding Carjacker Draws Police from Three Towns [UPDATED]

Officers from Camden to Delran are searching for a man they say carjacked two vehicles and attempted to rob a woman at knifepoint. A gas station robbery in Delran may be connected.

Police from Camden City and Collingswood are on the lookout for a man they say carjacked two vehicles and attempted to rob a woman at knifepoint this evening. Their target is described as a bearded black male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and around 250 pounds. Initial reports also connected these incidents with a gas station robbery in Delran that occurred sometime after the second carjacking; as the investigation widens, that may or may not be accurate, Collingswood Police said later Wednesday evening. Police are also not yet certain if the perpetrator in these incidents is the same man involved in the stabbing and robbery of a Gulf gas station attendant on Feb. 15, but early reports seem to indicate that he fits the description of that …

After Sunoco Job, More Regional Gas Station Robberies

Police aren't sure if the Nov. 11 robbery of the Route 130 Sunoco is connected with any of several others in the area. Even if it's not, it's just getting plain dangerous to work the pump.

A slew of unsolved gas station robberies in the region is frustrating police—and likely making attendants look over their shoulders at the pumps. It all seems to have begun in Collingswood Nov. 11, when an attendant was shot in the leg during a robbery attempt at the Route 130 Sunoco station. Later that night, another man was allegedly pistol-whipped in a robbery at the U.S. Gas station on Route 70 in Cherry Hill.  On Nov. 19, two robbers reportedly knocked over a Shell station on Route 73 in Maple Shade—the same day that a man attempted to do the same at a Blackwood gas station on the Black Horse Pike.  Last Tuesday, a Brooklawn Citgo was even hit twice in the same day. Finally, Wednesday morning, the Lukoil gas station on Crown Point …
