Down the Shore: Wine Fest, Boat Race, Antiques Fair

It's not the last weekend of summer, but it feels like it. Here's what to do if you're headed to the shore.

Heading down the Shore? Check out this weekend's best bets:  The "Jazz It Up Wine & Food Festival" will be held at historic Allaire Village in Wall Township this weekend. The event will feature more than 300 varieties of wine from more than two dozen wineries. The festival, which runs from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, also will feature live music, vendors and crafters. Tickets for wine sampling are $25 for those 21 years and older. Tickets are available at the festival or through the New Jersey Wine Growers website at newjerseywines.com. Those under 21 or who are not sampling wine are admitted free. Ocean City will crown the "King and Queen of Plop" at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ninth Street Beach, adjacent to the Ocean City Music Pier. …

Down the Shore: Firemen's Fair, 'Xanadu,' Flying History Tour

Here's what to do at the beach this weekend.

Heading down the Shore? Check out this weekend's best bets: The annual Fair Haven Firemen's Fair, billed as the largest in New Jersey, returns Friday night. There will be rides and food, and of course, rides on firetrucks. The fair, held at the firehouse on River Road, runs through Sept. 1, excluding Sundays. Down the Shore: Bike Race, Boardwalk Pageant, Festival of the Sea Carnival

Here's what's happening at the Jersey Shore this weekend.

Heading down the Shore? Check out this weekend's best bets:  Hundreds of cyclists will race Fair Haven's streets Sunday for the fourth annual Tour de Fair Haven competition, featuring six races in a 1.7-mile enclosed course. Cyclists will compete for $10,000 in prizes, and proceeds from the event benefit the Fair Haven Foundation. The race starts at 7 a.m. at the Fair Haven firehouse on River Road. The Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation sponsors a Beach Bash from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Berkeley Island County Park, Bayville. Down the Shore: County Fair, Haskell Invitational Top Weekend Events

Ready to hit the Jersey Shore this weekend? Here's what going on.

Heading down the Shore? Check out this weekend's best bets:  The Monmouth County Fair continues this weekend at the East Freehold Showgrounds in Freehold Township. Rides, music, food and 4-H exhibits are just among the attractions at the showgrounds, with $7 admission (kids younger than 12 free). Click here for a full list of events. The field is set for the annual Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park in Oceanport.
