Saxbys Coffee is set for its grand opening in Haddonfield Saturday. The first 10 people in line when the doors open at 6 a.m. will get free coffee for a year, according to a news release. Every customer Saturday will also receive free frozen yogurt. The official ribbon cutting is at 12:30 p.m. Saxbys is located at 104 Kings Highway East, in the spot formerly occupied by Yampell's Jewelers. The Philadelphia-based franchise was founded in 2005 and has branches in 30 communities throughout the country.
Things are heating up at local coffee shop Grooveground—just in time for winter.
The only sanctuary from Friday's 40-degree weather was inside Grooveground, materializing into a steaming mug of hot chocolate. And the Nov. 19 grand opening of Grooveground's seven-flavor Hot Chocolate Bar comes just in time for winter. Grooveground's Hot Chocolate Bar opened for the first time last year, just after Thanksgiving. But manager Colin Moran, 26, said popular demand caused Grooveground to open the Hot Chocolate Bar early this year.
