Once considered exotic and maybe even unusual, Indian food is well on its way to becoming as commonplace as Chinese or sushi. With the addition of Clay Oven Palace, Collingswood now boasts three Indian restaurants, each with their own flavors and ambiance. Some have questioned whether the town needs another Indian spot. Our answer: absolutely! Let us tell you why. We Collingswood Foodies love Indian food. When we moved to Collingswood from Philadelphia, we were distressed to leave behind our favorite restaurant Ekta, and our other normal curry spots. Clay Oven Palace Opens in Collingswood

The Indian restaurant opens on Haddon Avenue, and features a special for the next two weeks.

Collingswood cut the ribbon Tuesday on its third Indian eatery in town, welcoming Clay Oven Palace into the borough's restaurant fold.  Mayor James Maley snipped the ribbon Feb. 26 with Clay Oven Palace owners Kumar and Sunila Joshi and a crowd of supporters. For the next two weeks, Collingswood reports, the buffet is on special for $9.95.  Clay Oven Palace is located at 329 Haddon Ave.; the phone number is 856-854-7300 or 856-854-7302. Hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; closed Monday.

Pleasantly surprised how amazing Indian food can be :) I am a newbie at trying this type of cuisine and rarely dine at places I unfamiliar with. Wow, the buffet offered me the opportunity to try so many different types of Indian cuisine dishes I would have never ordered in the past not knowing what I was getting into.
