High School Choir to Make Sweet Music at Carnegie Hall

Collingswood High choir students will sing at one of the most prestigious performance venues in the world.

For a vocalist, performing at New York's Carnegie Hall means you've arrived. And for 50 high school choir students, Feb. 1, 2011, will mark their very own arrival.  Collingswood High School choir students will be one of just five schools given the opportunity to perform on one of the world's most prestigious stages—Carnegie Hall. "I was trying to find something that would top last year's performance," said choir director Cristin Charlton of students' December 2009 performance at New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. "I found out Carnegie Hall lets choir groups rent the stage for a night—but only if they audition and are accepted."
