Senior citizens and income-eligible Camden County residents can get help with tax preparation at the library's five branches.
Camden County submitted the following news release: Now that income tax season is upon us, the freeholder board is offering tax-return assistance to senior citizens and income eligible residents of Camden County. In partnership with AARP and the Rutgers Camden School of Law, free tax preparation will be hosted throughout the Camden County Library System. “Preparing an income tax return can be challenging for senior citizens and anyone that has specific financial questions,” said Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Library System. “Providing access to trained tax preparers will give individuals the guidance and assurance they need to file their returns with confidence this year.” The Vogelson Regional Branch Library in …

Got a library card and an Internet connection? You can grab three free songs a week and start downloading books to your tablet or PC.
Camden County Library System issued the following press release to Patch. The Camden County Library System is offering two new downloadable services free to its card-holding customers starting Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. For the first time, library cardholders will be able to download up to three free music tracks a week to their personal computer, iPod or any MP3 listening device. Once downloaded, the music tracks will not expire or need to be returned. The Freegal Music Service will offer access to over 3 million songs, from over 10,000 music labels in 65 different countries, including the Sony Music catalog of legendary artists. Camden County's library system offers help with homework assignments.
With homework and studying looming as summer winds down, the Camden County library system wants to remind residents of the academic assistance the libraries offer. Students don’t need to travel to the county libraries to take advantage of many homework aids—a home Internet connection will do the trick. Kids' World is the library system’s Web page children and includes a “Homework Help” section. Students can search for help by subject or with interdisciplinary search tools. Kids' World also connects parents and students to online databases. Searchasaurus, for example, may be used for assignments about animals.
