Blackbird has since moved from its original, 619 Collings Avenue, location, to its new location at 714 Haddon Avenue. The restaurant has been operating for a total of four years between both locations, reopening most recently on Haddon Avenue in February of 2011.
One thing that sets the Blackbird apart from other restaurants in its class—its unique, French-style table service. A great place for a romantic dinner, Blackbird is also just as suitable for a friendly, group night-out.
Specializing in homemade pasta—Blackbird's potato gnocchi won Philly Magazine's Best Pasta Dish in 2009—the restaurant also has plenty of other Franco-Italian cuisine dishes to choose from, including tasty seafood options.
Owner Alex Capasso doubles as Blackbird's executive chef. Capasso also owns West Side Gravy, which is now located in the same space as sister restaurant Blackbird—at 714 Haddon Avenue.
