Collingswood Calendar: Halloween Celebrations, Co-op Meeting

Plus: the Board of Education meets, you can get a pro headshot taken, and dance with the grownups for the benefit of the Collingswood Library.

Want to see a full-time, retail food co-op come to Collingswood? Meet some of your neighbors who are working for the same at 6 p.m. Monday, October 28 in the Collingswood Community Center. RSVP on Facebook or to collingswoodcoop@gmail.com.

Then, at 7 p.m., there's a regular monthly meeting of the Collingswood Board of Education in the Zane North Elementary School all-purpose room. Click here to preview the agenda (which was not posted at press time on Sunday).

Tuesday, October 29, there's a Halloween party at Studio LuLoo in next-door Oaklyn. Drop by and hear music from Collingswood's Kevin Monko, who will perform in tribute to his recently departed bandmate, Steve Demarest.

There's also a fundraiser shopping opportunity from Stella and Dot stylist Lesley Sico, with all proceeds to benefit the BreastFest nonprofit Tyanna Foundation and the Noreen Fraser Foundation.

Thursday, October 31, is Halloween in the borough. Townwide trick-or-treat hours are from 2 to 6 p.m., but you can bring your three-, four-, and five-year-olds to the Library for a 10 a.m. Halloween costume party in the morning beforehand.

Then, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., adults 21 and older are invited to the SoHa Arts Building on the White Horse Pike in Haddon Township for a Halloween party from Club House Black Magazine.

Friday, November 1, is the Library fundraiser dance at the Collingswood Community Center. All proceeds benefit the purchase of e-books for borough residents.

You can also meet Tracy Farquhar for a Day of the Dead celebration at the SoHa Arts Building from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $45, which covers snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and an in-person Spirit Gallery from Farquhar.

Saturday, November 2, you can get your LinkedIn profile spiffed up with a professional headshot taken by Milestone Media. Sessions are being scheduled at The Factory on Fern Ave. Call 856-701-2008 or e-mail Mike@MilestoneMedia USA.com.
