Plus: Collingswood opens its newest business, there's live music in town (and nearby)—and could you use a nanny?

Have you waited until now to check out the Collingswood Odyssey of the Mind? If you're a curious kid or the parent and supporter of one, you need to be at the open practice Monday, August 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Collingswood Library. These kids are going places with a truly world-class outfit.

On Tuesday, August 20, the borough welcomes its newest member of the business community as Frusen Berri opens on Powell Lane. The frozen yogurt shop will feature coffee and other treats as well as a posh new lounge in which to enjoy them.

Looking for something to do Tuesday night? Slide over to Oaklyn's Studio LuLoo and see featured Haley Dreis & Caleb Caudle headline a very welcoming open mic. The show runs from 7:15 to 11:30 and you can be a part of it if you sign up early.

On Thursday, August 22, Collingswood High School will host a barbecue for the student athletes of the 2013-14 school year on the high school football field. It runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and is a great team-building event that helps the department and coaches set expectations for the coming year

**UPDATE: The Collingswood Junior Women's Club beef-and-beer scheduled for the Collingswood Community Center has been postponed until October 5. You can still get your tickets by following the link above, and the $30 advance ticket price benefits local charitable causes.

On Friday, August 23stop by the Fridays Live performance by Bill Teer at the Grooveground Coffee Bar garden bar starting at 8:30 p.m.

Could you use a little extra help around the house? If you've got a spare room to lend, you could work with the American Nanny and Parenting Institute to host a student nanny starting in September 2013. There's an info session on Sunday, August 25, at 1101 Kings Highway North, suite G-100, Cherry Hill.
