This Summer, James Patterson Invites You to Read, Kiddo

Patch is partnering with the best-selling author to deliver a summer's worth of age-appropriate kids' reads.

This summer, Patch is teaming up with ReadKiddoRead, the children's literacy foundation established by author James Patterson, to help bring parents a list of age-appropriate summer reading materials.

If you've been looking for something to keep the kids away from the screen for a bit—and want to help reinforce district-wide reading priorities during the downtime—have a look at the lists, which we've stored on our Summer Reading topic page.

(Included here is a video from the author that introduces the program.)

But we thought, hey, hold up here, Patterson. You want to run this list past Dot Garabedian first.

Fortunately, Garabedian, Youth Services Coordinator of the , says the list checks out.

"Children and teens will find a number of books to their liking on James Patterson's comprehensive ReadKiddoRead list," she wrote in an email. "The summer is the perfect time to explore new genres and read for sheer pleasure. Mr. Patterson's list will enable you to examine your many alternatives."
