Fans of the Collingswood High School girls basketball team will have at least one chance to get to see the Panthers in a home playoff game.
The NJSIAA released its girls basketball playoff brackets today, and the Panthers were slotted as the No. 6 seed in South Jersey Group 2.
Collingswood (14-6) will host No. 11 Buena in the first round. An official date has not been selected but first-round games must be completed by Feb. 25.
Playing out of the Cape-Atlantic League, Buena has grinded out a 10-8 record, which included victories in three of its last four.
The two teams did not meet during the regular season but share three common opponents: West Deptford, Woodbury and GCIT. Buena defeated West Deptford (38-24), Woodbury (32-24) and GCIT (43-28), while Collingswood beat West Deptford twice (37-20, 43-16) Woodbury (33-29) and GCIT (37-14).
If the Panthers can get past the Chiefs, they will take on the winner of No. 3 Cinnaminson/No. 14 Bridgeton.
Willingboro is the No. 1 seed and Middle Township is the No. 2 seed. Other local teams that qualified include: Deptford (No.9), Haddonfield (No. 10) and West Deptford (No. 16).
