Collinswood Elections - OK so we didn't win

So, we didn't we, but we made the effort

Lets admit it, if you have ever watched any of my Youtube Videos - IM A TROUBLE MAKER, LOL.

I freely admit I know I had a snowballs chance in hell of ever attaining office. But my idea was to maybe shake up the "old guard" in Collingwood that all the things they have done over the years hasn't really benefited the Boro. We just got hit with a $50 a year tax increase on property taxes this year (supposedly due to costs in rising healthcare costs {thank you Obamacare}).

But the issue still exists that there are people in Collingswood on fixed incomes or retired that could possibly lose their homes due to rising tax costs in running the Boro. I find that disgusting.

To me it seems the "Norcross-ites" are still in power and it will take some time to weed them out and/or expunge their dynasty.

It was a pleasure meeting and sharing time with Tim as we stood in the parking lot "doing our thing". And yes, some folks did not like us being there and called the Boro Hall to complain about us. But, we were well past the 100' limit to being near a polling place as required by law. Call it harassment for the sake of "politics". We just kind of laughed at it (like I said, I'm a trouble maker).

I would like to thank Matt from the Patch for at least stopping by to say hello and introduce himself to us. I'd call it "fair and balanced reporting" in my book. Kudos to the Patch!

As we saw the intial results on the voting "Ian" didn't make the cut and was beat out by about 400 votes against the incumbants. Me? I knew I did not have a chance, but this is America (the last I looked) and all I did was exercise my RIGHTS under the 1st Amendment. And at days end both Tim and I went home with aching feet and backs as we waved and said hi to many of the voters who came to vote.

While we have current issues in our Federal Government, it still is nice to see that on our "local level" we can still spar and vie for recognition in exercising our Constitional Rights in America. THAT was my point in what I did (even if I knew I had no chance).

I just don't want to see Collingswood turn into "another Haddonfield" that is who we were not 45 years ago. They are THEM, we should just be US!

The system still works, at least locally. For than I am proud.

Thank you to all who participated in exercising our God given rights.
