Night Out Collingswood

A sneak peek of Night Out Collingswood, a fun-filled fundraiser for PFLAG Collingswood.

Back in September, Lori Kerfren, a newcomer to Collingswood, posed a question on “In the ‘Wood,” a group on Facebook. She simply asked, “Where are The Gay in Collingswood?” A conversation started and within days, an event was organized, Night Out Collingswood, which is scheduled for this Thursday, October 11, 2012. Proceeds from the event will be used to support PFLAG Collingswood, which serves southern New Jersey by offering a variety of resources, including a support group, educational materials, and a topical speakers series.

Following are details on this exciting, fun-filled event:

  • Casona of Collingswood and The Pop Shop will generously donate 15% of your food charges on October 11 to PFLAG Collingswood. Be sure to mention “Night Out Collingswood” to your server.
  • Night Out Collingswood apparel for men, women, and children and other merchandise are now available for purchase at http://www.cafepress.com/nightoutcollingswoodnj. A portion of each purchase will go to PFLAG Collingswood.
  • Join us at The Pop Shop from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. for Out Quizzo, which will be hosted by local drag queen Auntie Acid. For a suggested $5 admission fee, you’ll get to play three rounds of GLBTQ trivia and have the opportunity to win some amazing prizes donated by area businesses and people, including theatre and Gay Bingo tickets, educational and yoga classes, pottery, jewelry, and an array of gift certificates. Be sure to bring your appetite because The Pop Shop will be selling its delicious food for you to snack on while playing Quizzo. PFLAG members will be selling tickets for additional prizes that will be raffled off at the end of the evening. All total, close to $3,000 in prizes will be up for grabs through Quizzo and the raffle! Finally, PFLAG Collingswood representatives will be on hand to share information about the group and its programs.
