Report: Rob Andrews' Spending Under Investigation

A House ethics panel is investigating whether the congressman from South Jersey improperly used campaign funds for personal business.

Longtime U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews is under investigation by a House ethics panel for his use of campaign funds, the Huffington Post reports. 

Andrews, a Democrat, reportedly spent $97,000 on at least 18 trips to California from 2007 to 2011. Some of the trips coincided with his daughter Josie's recording sessions in California.

Rob Andrews, a Haddon Heights resident, was first elected to Congress in 1990. He represents New Jersey's 1st Congressional District, which comprises parts of Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties. 

Andrews said in a statement that the ethics committee will clear him of accusations that he called "politically motivated" and "totally and categorically false," according to the Huffington Post.
