President Obama's Eligibility Challenged

Two men, including a Monmouth County resident, are challenging President Barack Obama's placement on the state's primary ballot.

Two New Jersey residents, including one from Monmouth County, are challenging President Barack Obama's place on the state's primary ballot, according to the Bayshore Tea Party Group.

Nick Purpura, of Monmouth County, has filed a challenge along with Ocean County resident Ted Moran alleging that Obama has never shown adequate proof that he was born in the United States - despite the release of a longform birth certificate by the White House in April of 2011 - and that his father was never a citizen of the United States, meaning Obama is not a natural born citizen, at least according to their interpretation of the Constitution.

The challenge will be heard by an administrative law judge Tuesday at the Administrative Law Offices in Quakerbridge and the Bayshore Group has asked those interested in attending to consider carpooling - a cost effective and environmentally friendly mode of travel.

The primary election is scheduled for June 5.

The petition, which was uploaded to the the document-sharing site Scribd, cites sources that include World Net Daily, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the controversial elected sheriff of Maricopa County, Az., and videos posted on YouTube as evidence why Obama may not be eligible to be this country's president.

From the petition:

"Candidate Obama has not conclusively proven his identity and he is perpetrating a fraud upon Objector Purpora (sic) and Moran by not revealing his true identity which is harmful to their rights as voters and citizens. The objection to Candidate Obama's nominating petition is twofold. We first allege that he has not conclusively proven that he was born in the United States. We also allege that even if he was born in the United States, he is still not an Article II "natural born Citizen" because he fails to meet the requirements of the traditional American common law definition of the clue which is a child born in the country to two U.S. citizen parents."

"American Thinker"---Really!!! Yuk, yuk, yuk.
Talk about irony!!
Diogenes April 10, 2012 at 08:04 pm
When Purpura (purpura, by the way, is a type of skin rash) and Moron---oops!--I mean Moran--present their case, they will base it on the foundation of P.O.E--Peace on Earth, or Purity of Essence. Their lawyer will be General Jack Ripper, and their political consultant is Dr. Strangelove. Once again, the country will laugh at NJ.

How many stars are on the American flag flying at All federal buildings? If Hawaii and Alaska aren't states then why are there stars represented for them.
Ric April 10, 2012 at 09:01 pm
Yes, but Virginia was not a state at the time of George Washington's birth just like Hawaii was not a state when Obama was born!
So I guess the birthers want George Washington to be impeached! This birther movement is so stupid. With all the more important problems going on in New Jersey and America that need adressing, the birthers are truly clueless.
Alison Perry April 10, 2012 at 09:02 pm
By the same argument that you're using regarding contiguous land - does that mean that Canada and Mexico are states?
Alison Perry April 10, 2012 at 09:08 pm
Ric - Hawaii became a state in 1959...supposedly Obama was born there in 1961. Therefore your statement is incorrectand irrelevant. Sorry!
Jim Woods April 10, 2012 at 09:35 pm
Great! comment Harry.....some people that I have come in contact with, for one reason or another, that have displayed(verbally) that they were prejudice. I have asked them, how many stars & sripes on the American Flag? and, they get it wrong...So, I think there is something wrong there. Doesnt exactly relate to what you said, but you get where I'm going.........
Jim Woods April 10, 2012 at 09:43 pm
David, do you know how many stars & stripes on the American Flag ?
Donna Ann Thomas April 10, 2012 at 11:19 pm
And they have fabulous tans!
Mr. Hankey April 10, 2012 at 11:36 pm
They should drop a stripe or add a stripe. Thirteen is an unlucky number. Ever since there were thirteen colonies, we couldn't catch a break.
David Vaccaro April 10, 2012 at 11:56 pm
Jim,
I think there are 13 stripes and 58 stars according to the First Kenyan.
David Vaccaro April 11, 2012 at 12:01 am
I wonder what the flag would look like if borat had a chance to design it. Maybe like the Kenyan flag but with his likeness in the corner. Or Like a food stamp. Or better yet that New Yorker cover with him and the food obsessed Michelle doing the fist bump.
Loretka April 11, 2012 at 12:34 am
Why did it make a lot of sense in 1790 but not today? In any event, the Constitution says so, and until it is changed we should abide by it. And we should not change the Constitution simply to fix things for specific people. Changing this requirement would allow for someone from a foreign country to come over here and be president. Bye Bye America. This Constitutional requirement should remain as is.
David Vaccaro April 11, 2012 at 12:55 am
Michael,
I think you just want to expand the cess(pool) of candidates available to the democrat party. You'd think what with self-described liberals representing only about 20% of the population there'd be plenty of defective candidates available already. Look at the great history, great war heroes like John Kerry having suffering a near fatal rice injury to his ass, goofy dopes like algore who said the core of the earth is 5 million degrees and candidates like Mike Dukkakis who needed all his spare time to keep Kitty from drinking his cologne. Of course there were successes like Bill Clinton, who in retrospect wasn't half bad in comparison. He spawned a new kind of democrat. Women who wished they were Monica and men who wished they were Monica too. The democrat party grows odder than ever.

Best president ever as long as you like to sit home all day and collect other peoples hard earned cash! He has been paying my bills for years bc he keeps extending unemployment! Who needs a job when you can get paid to watch jerry springer.

Since my motives and more about me has been publicly mocked let me state that I am proud to say that the first president I voted for was Ronald Reagan and although I'm not too happy with GOP nowadays, as a Catholic, voting for a Democrat for anything higher than the town council or county clerk in New Jersey is not a option.
Let me remind everyone that when the Constitution was written the USA consisted of the eastern seaboard states and that England, France and Spain had huge territories on our borders filled with Indian tribes that had fought us in the Revolution and the French and Indian War. It made perfect sense then to reserve the Presidency to someone who had been born here. We no longer have to fear that the England might send a army to burn down Washington DC or the French will demand tribute like they did during the XYZ Affair. Let me also say that by the original Constitution that only white males could vote and senators were elected by the state legislatures and vice presidents were elected separately from the president. There's no reason we can't amend this ridiculous requirement to the dustbin of history except we don't want to. Again I assert that the only modern justification for retaining this law is Nativism, that is, the belief that anyone not born in the United States cannot be a loyal American.
Neil Kaye April 11, 2012 at 08:13 pm
Michael, thanks for a thoughtful comment. It is much more balanced than I thought it would be based on your intro. The later suggests you are a single issue voter, abortion is the only position that drives your voting. Many Catholics have begun to see the issue of "social justice" as more important than simply being against abortion. Keep on thinking. We need thinkers in this world. JFK, a Democrat, was the first Catholic President, and agreed to keep the boundary between church and state. I don't want a religiously run country nor did the founding fathers. That's why they left England. If someone wants to live in a country run by religious rules there are plenty from which to pick, including Christian and Islamic venues. Personally, I believe we should keep religion out of the picture, even in OCNJ where Methodists first settled. Just think, if we didn't have the religion issue behind the scenes, we wouldn't be arguing about BYOB either.

I don't know about you--and I sense a lot of tongue-in-cheek sentiment in that statement--but I don't believe it matters who is in the Oval Office. Unemployment is going to exist whether it's a Republican or a Democrat there and, given the awful economy that has spanned over the last two presidents' terms now, it was going to be extended whether there was an "R" or a "D" there. And there are always going to be those who are content taking in the $500 or so maximum a week that comes with unemployment and sitting on the couch (hopefully watching something more enriching than Springer) and there are always going to be those who want to do more with their lives than they can do on $500 a week.

Until we realize that almost no politicians really represent us, whether republican or dem , we are destined to suffer from their decisions. They simply seek to keep us polarized!
One term and done for all of them, let them come back and live in our world.
David Vaccaro April 12, 2012 at 11:37 am
Archie,
I agree with you to an extent. But the system only asks that you choose between one of the two parties and pick the better person. Look at where we are with the president. Obama was clearly the wrong choice...that was obvious to most. McCain would have been in some areas a less than perfect choice but we wouldn't have to claw ourselves back from the precipice of disaster. McCain represented clear American values. Obama's mind is off in some imagined Marxist utopia lacking the simplest of understanding how our system works. Anyone who fell for a guy who said he could change the sea level is an idiot. We should have lowered his water level and flushed this loser. I'm with you on single terms but these bastards are unlikely do it to themselves. Until then, we should hold them to some standards and dump those who clearly shouldn't be leading us.

Got to disagree respectfully , one and done for me. No pensions for elected leaders, no benefits, health care et al. In one generation of voting them all out we would improve the country dramatically.
