New Jersey Party Primary Elections Tuesday

The most contested race in the primary will be that of the Democrat selections for Camden County freeholder seats.

If you vote in the primary elections for either of the Republican or Democratic parties, Tuesday is the day to make your selection for the candidate you'd like to see on the November ballot.

(A sample primary ballot is attached to this story.)

Candidates

STATE SENATE
In the Sixth Legislative District, incumbent New Jersey State Senator James Beach is running uncontested for the Democrats, while Republicans Sudhir Deshmukh and Robert Shapiro will duke it out on the GOP ticket.

STATE ASSEMBLY
The New Jersey State Assembly primary candidates for both parties are running uncontested

On the Democratic side, incumbents Louis D. Greenwald and Pamela Lampitt will face Republicans Chris Leone-Zwillinger and Ellyn McMullin.

There are a number of challengers for the two open freeholder seats on the Democratic ticket.

Incumbents Edward McDonnell and Carmen Rodriguez face competition from fellow Democrats Thomas Stearns, Jr., Chris Kehner, Ralph Gorgo, Jr. and Amy LaConte-Smith.

The Republican slate is uncontested; Caren Sokolow and former Clementon Councilman Ian Gill will face the top two vote-getters from the other side of the aisle.

STATE COMMITTEE
The candidates for both male and female vacant positions on the Democratic and Republican state commitees are all running uncontested.

The Democratic males will be political strategist Stephen Ayscue, Harry Platt and Somerdale Mayor Gary Passanante; the females will be Barbara A. Pine, Camden City Mayor Dana Redd and Assistant Camden County Counselor Laura Paffenroth.
