Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair Takes Place Wednesday in Camden

The job fair begins at 10:30 a.m. in Camden.

The Camden County Freeholder Board is sponsoring the Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair for Veterans, active duty military, members of Guard and Reserve components and military spouses on Wednesday.

The free job fair will be held at the Susqeuhanna Bank Center, 1 Harbor Boulevard in Camden, 10:30 a.m.

“We are committed to our nation’s veterans and want to assist them in every way possible after they honored us with their service,” Freeholder Deputy Director Ed McDonnell, liaison to the Camden County Office of Veteran’s Affairs, said.  “That is why we are proud to join the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the American Legion’s Camden County Executive Committee to hold a Hiring Our Heroes Job and Coaching Fair.”

A workshop for veterans and other military job seekers that focuses on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating hiring fairs, military skill translation and interviewing will start at 8:30 a.m.

The local Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair is being held as part of a nationwide effort to help veterans and their partners find meaningful employment.  Supporting organizations and other veteran related agencies will be available to provide attendees with additional information regarding their state and federal benefits.

To conduct the event, the Camden County Office of Veterans Affairs is working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service New Jersey Committee, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the New Jersey State Parole Board and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. 

Local sponsors include the Camden County Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey.

Veteran job seekers can register at www.hiringourheroes.org.  Walk-ins are always welcome, and veterans must provide proof of service.
