UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning in Effect Throughout the State Tuesday Night

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for the whole state through 9 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning in effect for various parts of the state Tuesday night.

The warning is in effect through 8:30 p.m. for Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, and parts of Cumberland County, and parts of central and northern New Jersey are under a warning through 10:15 p.m.

The warning is in effect for northern Ocean and Monmouth counties through 7:15 p.m.

Atlantic County, southeast Burlington County and Ocean County in southern New Jersey, including Toms River, remain under the Flash Flood Warning through 10:45 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the whole state through 9 p.m.

Most deaths occur in automobiles. Residents are advised to never drive into areas where the water covers the roadway.

Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road.
