Did You Buy a Ticket for the $550 Million Powerball Drawing Tonight?

You can't win if you don't play, as they say. Here's where to pick up a ticket in the area.

The jackpot for tonight’s Powerball game drawing increased now sits at a $550 million annuity prize, officials announced today.

That's the largest in Powerball history, the largest currently offered in the world and more than $185 million larger than the previous top Powerball jackpot of $365 million in February 2006, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger said.

The lottery network of more than 6,500 retailers across New Jersey sold more than $14.7 million in Powerball tickets for tonight’s draw as of noon today.

Ticket sales from the current game roll—that began on Oct. 6—have thus far generated nearly $16 million in contributions to the state. Lottery money goes to fund education programs, hospitals and more.
