Collingswood Holidays to Kick Off Today

Beginning tonight, with the tree lighting ceremony, Collingswood kicks off its holiday season.

Holiday bells will start ringing tonight at 7 p.m.—Friday, Nov. 25—during Collingswood's Annual .

During, Santa Claus himself will descend from the roof of Collingswood Borough Hall, taking the journey rung by rung on Collingswood Fire Department's ladder truck, ho-ho-ing all the way.

The borough's official evergreen tree will be lit, while mayor and commissioners offer season's greetings to all in attendance.

But once the town is lit in its holiday glow, get to bed early.

At 10 a.m. tomorrow—Saturday, Nov. 26—Collingswood's Annual begins.

Named Best Main Street Experience by South Jersey Magazine, the parade features lively seasonal entertainment, including marching bands, dancers, holiday characters, giants on stilts, floats, mummers, live music—even sports mascots like the Phillie Phanatic.

The parade route will begin at the intersection of Haddon and Zane avenues, continuing down Haddon Avenue and ending at W. Linden Avenue.
