Police are searching for information that will help them identify an alleged burglar who assaulted an elderly, wheelchair-bound Haddon Township woman in her home on Sunday.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor's office, the 83-year-old victim was alone in her Collings Avenue home at 7:15 p.m. when a man came to the door and threatened to kill her if she didn’t give him money.
The two apparently struggled, briefly, but the attacker took money from her purse and fled the scene.
The victim reportedly called for help via a Life Alert device, and that company notified Haddon Township Police. Police say the victim was bruised and cut from her struggle, but that she declined treatment at a hospital.
Authorities describe her attacker as a white man standing about five feet, six inches tall, with a medium build and blue eyes.
