Vandals Cut Cable at Heights of Collingswood

Someone was in a grinchly mood when he or she took a pair of snippers to the cable connections in seven floors of the C Tower at the apartment complex.

Police say that a busy vandal (or vandals) reportedly snipped wires in each of the main boxes in floors three through 10 of the "C" Tower at the Heights of Collingswood apartment complex on Tuesday.

At midnight on December 9, Collingswood police received a call from a Comcast cable representative that an outage reported that evening may have been intentionally caused.

The representative discovered that numerous cable wires had been severed, suspiciously, on seven floors of the building. Cable boxes are located in the hallway trash room of each floor, and police say the worker was able to repair most of them.

Police are reviewing security footage from cameras at the facility in an effort to identify a suspect.

Collingswood Police Chief Richard Sarlo said that any charges would depend on the dollar amount of the damages, but that it was "probably at least a fourth-degree crime."
