Suspects in Valero Gas Station Robbery Arrested, Charged in String of Crimes

Three Mount Laurel men are accused of robbing gas stations in Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Runnemede, Bellmawr, Berlin and Somerdale.

Three men have been charged in a string of gas station robberies, Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and police officials announced late Friday afternoon.

Nakesse Armstrong, 19; Jordan M. Walker, 20; and Zahir Camillo, all of Mt. Laurel, have been charged with multiple counts of robbery, conspiracy and weapons offenses in the robberies of gas stations in Collingswood, Cherry Hill, Runnemede, Bellmawr, Berlin and Somerdale, officials said.

The most recent of theses incidents took place at the Speed Gas Station in Somerdale.

After two armed men allegedly robbed that gas station, the owner followed them to Mount Laurel in his own vehicle. Although he lost track of the suspects, he was able to record their license plate number, police said, which tipped them off to Armstrong's residence.

Authorities apprehended Armstrong on Saturday, and after executing a search warrant, discovered clothes, a mask, gloves and a handgun believed to have been used in the robbery.

Walker and Camillo were arrested the following day, police said.

Other gas stations police suspect the three men of robbing include the Valero Gas Station on Route 130 North in Collingswood, on Sept. 15, as well as:

  • U.S. Gas on Route 70 in Cherry Hill, on Aug. 7;
  • Citgo Gas Station on Route 73 in Berlin, on Aug. 29;
  • Shell Gas Station on Route 168 in Bellmawr, on Sept. 10; and
  • Extra Gas Station on Clements Bridge Road in Runnemede, on Aug. 7.

They are also suspected of possible gas station robberies in neighboring counties, although additional charges have yet to be filed, police said.
