Raymond T. Steinhagen Accused in CVS Assault

Steinhagen, of Haddon Township, has a Sept. 12 court appearance in the case. He's been in trouble with the law before.

Oaklyn Police collared Haddon Township’s Raymond T. Steinhagen Wednesday for reportedly assaulting a woman at CVS on Aug. 8.

Steinhagen, 50, allegedly assaulted a female victim in CVS on Aug. 8. At the time, police said they had no motive for the attack, but believed the suspect lived in the area. The victim wasn’t seriously injured.

Officials identified Steinhagen, 50, from the footage, as well as a search for the suspect's physical description in a police data bank. Steinhagen previously pleaded guilty to burglary, and in 2010 was sentenced to 180 days in county jail and three years' probation. A 2000 assault charge garnered Steinhagen nine months in county jail, according to state records.

Steinhagen was charged with assault and released with a summons. He is scheduled to appear in Oaklyn municipal court at 9 a.m. Sept. 12.
