Prosecutor's Office Warns of Bad Heroin Batches

Three overdoses at Cooper Hospital on Friday night led Camden County police to believe the drugs have been tainted.

The following was issued by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson are issuing a warning about what may be adulterated heroin being sold in Camden.

Three individuals were brought to Cooper Hospital Friday night for treatment for heroin overdoses. Law enforcement is not publicizing where these individuals purchased heroin, but will be testing the drugs to determine the composition.

Chief Thomson warned that these overdoses may have been caused by a batch of heroin that included toxic elements that could prove fatal without medical attention. 

The Camden County Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating and attempting to identify the source of the drugs.
