Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver Had Suspended License

Police say Wanda Brown of Camden woman was driving with a suspended license when she seriously injured a pedestrian in a traffic accident on Route 38 Tuesday.

A Camden woman who was driving on a suspended license faces numerous criminal charges after severely injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash on Route 38 near the entrance to the Cherry Hill Mall Thursday, Cherry Hill police said Friday morning.

Wanda Brown, 49, of Landsdowne Avenue in Camden, was identified as the driver and confessed to leaving the scene after being located just a few hours after the 1:55 p.m. crash, police said.

Brown faces charges of causing serious bodily injury while driving on a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident result in serious bodily injury and endangering an injured victim, as well as numerous motor vehicle violations, and is currently in Camden County Jail.

The victim, who suffered multiple fractures and severe head and neck injuries, is currently recovering from surgery at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, police said
