The Camden County Prosecutor's Office has video of the alleged assailant who struck a police officer in the eye.

Authorities are asking for help from the public to identify the man they say punched a Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) officer in the face near the Ferry Avenue PATCO Hi-Speedline station.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, the suspect is described as "a Hispanic man standing five feet, seven inches to five feet, nine inches tall, with a slim build and close-cropped, receding dark hair."

The officer "was punched in the face without provocation" while sitting in his patrol vehicle, according to a statement from the Prosecutor's Office, which notes that "the assailant may have had something held in his hand which increased the severity of the injuries."

The officer was cut, bruised, and suffered damage to his right eye. He attempted to chase down his attacker, but was unsuccessful.

The Prosecutor's Office released a video of the man they say is the alleged assailant. Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call Det. Gerald Torres of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (856) 225-8617 or (856) 580-2046.
