Collingswood Police referred inquiries to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, which released updated information about the incident later Friday evening.
At 1:20 p.m., authorities say a man "entered the bank with a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash," fleeing on foot.
"A more detailed description of the suspect is not available at this time," the statement read.
At 2:30 p.m., the bank was locked down, with a sign noting that it was "closed for emergency reasons" and another referring patrons to its other locations in Westville and Cinnaminson. On the sidewalk along Ogden Avenue, police had marked locations of evidence with yellow placards.
A neighbor, who wasn't home during the alleged incident, said she believed the cards indicated the possible location of dye packs typically used to taint stolen bills. She also said she had seen a K-9 unit in the area.
