Police from 3 Towns Descend on Haddon Crossing Apts. Friday

Unconfirmed reports suggest the action was related to a narcotics overdose.

The southbound shoulder of Cuthbert Boulevard was filled with emergency services vehicles from three nearby towns early Friday evening, as police and EMS responded to the Haddon Crossing apartment building.

The reason for the activity could not be immediately confirmed by authorities, but one resident of the complex, who declined to be named, offered an explanation.

"It's the heroin. It's one of the bad ones."

One apartment door was open with an empty gurney parked in the threshold; nearby, a man stood, his hands over his face in obvious shock.

Then, 20 minutes after the vehicles were spotted on the scene, the Haddon Township ambulance and an emergency services vehicle from Virtua were seen headed down Haddon Avenue in Collingswood in the direction of Camden City.

Just two days ago, Camden County authorities warned that more bad batches of heroin had been discovered in Camden Citynot the first time that's happened in recent months.
