Police Blotter: Theft and Possession of CDS

The following arrest information was supplied by the Collingswood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft—

At 1:55 a.m. Monday, June 6, officers were dispatched to the B Tower of Heights of Collingswood Apartment Complex, to investigate reports of a theft.

According to police reports, officers met with a 24-year-old female victim, a resident of Heights of Collingswood.

Police said the victim alleged having placed a various assortment of laundry items in a washing machine. The washing machine is situated in a laundry area shared by complex residents.

Upon placing the items in the machine, said reports, the victim left the laundry area for a brief time.

When she returned to the area to collect her items, said police, she discovered her clothes had been stolen. 

Police said this case is still under investigation, pending review of the complex's video surveillance footage.

 

Possession of CDS—

At 11:53 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, officers patrolling Route 130 North conducted a motor vehicle stop.

Police pulled over a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup truck, whose operator was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.

The driver, said police, was identified as 32-year-old Marlton male Christopher J. Craig. 

According to police reports, while speaking to the driver, officers observed drug paraphernalia in the interior compartment of Craig's vehicle.

Craig was removed from his vehicle, at which time police said a clear, plastic sandwich bag was recovered in his possession.

Police said the bag contained a substance purported to be heroin. 

According to reports, Craig was arrested, his car was impounded, and he was transported to Collingswood police headquarters for processing.

Police said Craig was charged with possession of CDS, and was issued summonses for failure to wear a seat belt and driving with a suspended license. 

Craig was released pending an 8:30 a.m. June 10 appearance in Camden City's Central Judicial Processing (CJP) Court.
